Ouraluoto

Part of the municipality of Merikarvia, the Oura archipelago consists of numerous small and medium-sized protruding rocks and islets in the Bothnian Sea. Its scenery is unique among practically all of Finland’s archipelagoes. This is due not only to the many protruding rocks and islets but also the diverse nature of this area.

Ouraluoto is part of the Bothnian Sea National Park and it is cooperatively maintained as a public recreational area by the municipality of Merikarvia. Visitors can also stay overnight on the islet in the historical buildings called Ryssänkasarmi and Luotsiasema. The highlight of any visit to this unique archipelago is the Ouraluoto sauna. Reservations can be made by contacting the Merikarvia municipality.
