There are also special activities designed for children. Admission to Pori museums is free for those under 18.

The Pori Art Museum has reopened spectacularly with exhibitions such as Circle: Piste [Point], Maire Gullichsen and Turning Points of Modernism, Architect’s Room – Abstraction and Utopia, Adrian Piper: Funk Lessons, and Elis Hannikainen & Vappu Jalonen: Visitor Centre X. The museum has been bustling with visitors, who are delighted to experience art once again.

The new and cozy Pori Art Museum Café serves visitors during museum opening hours, closing half an hour before the museum. Be sure to explore the café’s offerings.

Alongside the exhibitions, there is a rich program of events. Guided exhibition tours, included in the admission fee, are held on Saturdays, with themed tours once a month on Sundays. The new Wednesday Art Mornings have proven popular with early risers.

Music is a constant presence in our lives, whether we want it or not. It plays in the background of everyday routines and sets the mood for celebrations. We hear it in familiar places and in the most surprising and distant corners of the world. Music connects, divides, uplifts, and grounds us in daily life.

In this lecture series, academic experts specializing in various aspects of music research will explore themes through their own studies.

All lectures will also be streamed online.

The series opens with a lecture by Tommi Iivonen (Doctoral Researcher, University of Turku): Porilainen alternativeskene ja paikallisuus. Free admission to the lecture.

Visit the Art Museum with Children
