Maintenance break begins today on Pori Forest ski trails
The warm weather forecasted for the coming days poses challenges for maintaining the ski trails in Pori Forest. To preserve the current trail base for use when the weather becomes more winter-like again, maintenance of the Pori Forest ski trails will be temporarily suspended. The maintenance break is expected to last about a week.
– With the rain and warming weather, the ski trails are deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, and the heavy grooming machines further wear down the trail base. The maintenance break aims to slow down the melting of the trail base and ensure that maintenance can resume when the weather cools and snow returns, explains sports facility manager Juha-Pekka Veneskivi.
The ski trails can still be used at your own risk during the maintenance break. However, users should be aware that the trail base will be icier and of lower quality than usual during this time.
