The restoration of the artificial ice rink has progressed as planned – the rink will open to users on Saturday

The restoration of the artificial ice rink following last weekend’s Talviklassikko event has proceeded on schedule despite challenging weather conditions. The ice will be maintained overnight and on Saturday morning. According to the current estimate, the artificial ice rink will reopen for normal use by 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 1.

– The dismantling of the Talviklassikko structures began immediately after last weekend’s event. The hockey rink was removed early in the week, and the last spectator stands were taken down on Thursday evening. Ice restoration work has been ongoing for nearly the entire week, despite weather-related challenges. The Talviklassikko ice team will continue maintaining the ice until noon tomorrow, says Petteri Lahti, Head of the Sports Unit at the City of Pori.

The public skating session scheduled for Saturday morning has been canceled due to final ice maintenance work. However, the evening public skating session will take place as per the normal schedule from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. More information about the artificial ice rink can be found via the provided link.
