Winter holiday begins – Yyteri’s sledding hill is being covered with snow

The school winter holiday weeks are about to begin. The Keisarinpankki sledding hill is being covered with snow for holidaymakers from Thursday, February 13, to Sunday, February 16. The hill will be ready for sledding starting Sunday afternoon. During the snowmaking process, sledding is not allowed.

The city of Pori and local businesses have put together a diverse program full of fun and experiences for all ages! There will be activities every day for two weeks, from February 17 to March 2.

The program includes a sledding disco, movie nights, circus activities, alpacas and ponies, pizza days, and much more. Check out the full schedule here.

In Yyteri, specific areas are designated for sledding to protect the lyme grass on the protected dunes. You can find the approved sledding areas on the map.

Visitor Centre Services

The Yyteri Visitor Centre and its services will be open every day during the winter holiday weeks! Stop by to explore the building, color a winter-themed bear drawing, or take a break with board games and a warm drink. The Visitor Centre will be open from February 15 to March 2, daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. The centre’s café, Yyteri Shop, will also be open during these hours.

The Visitor Centre’s restrooms are open daily for free from 6 AM to 9 PM. Outside of these hours, access is available by calling a paid service number. When the Visitor Centre is closed, the restrooms can be accessed from the back of the building.

At the Yyteri Square campfire site, you can roast snacks and enjoy the cozy winter atmosphere. Firewood is available next to the campfire site, and if supplies run out, assistance is available at the Visitor Centre during its opening hours.
